This morning I came across a podcast called 'stuff mum never told you' where they discussed how most women choose to under play their career ambitions because they fear men will find them intimidating and find them less attractive if they are being paid a higher salary.
I personally have struggled with gender roles and expectations as a result of growing up with a bread-winner mum. My mum is nurturing, full of great ideas and really assertive and my dad also being the alpha struggled with this.
Have you ever felt threatened or intimidated by your partners success? I feel like there should be more open conversations about this. Not only so that us girls can speak up about what we want, but for guys who wake up feeling a crippling amount self doubt because of the expectations from their partners and family.
Side note, its national tequila day.
