Make measurable progress in reasonable time.
You have to be realistic in your goals. Building muscle takes time. Losing fat takes time. Growing an awesome Viking beard takes time. Go easy on yourself and learn what you can realistically expect in x amount of time. I've been at this bodybuilding game only for a year with consistency. I've been in the gym for three years consistently. This wasn't over night and it won't be for you. Bit give it time. It will come. And it comes faster if you start in the right direction and stay the course.
