Had the pleasure of meeting this couple, Kay & Ed Church (don't mind my sleepy face!) last weekend. Kay joined the church about 20 years ago after being a part of the RLDS church (one of over twelve factions of people who broke off from the main organization of the Mormon church after the assassination of Jospeh Smith) all her life. Her daughter had joined the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints years ago, and Kay finally became interested enough to learn about the gospel herself. She spoke fondly of her association with her previous church, but knew she was missing the fullness of the gospel. Her husband Ed was baptized a few years later. Kay, Ed, and their daughter are a testament to personal revelation and being modern pioneers. -
This is my way of #praying in #puppypose which is such a good stretch for releasing shame and guilt. Sometimes in our walk in life we rush into things as we are so eager to experience life. Then when we realize that we ran in the wrong direction we quickly tuck and run yelping away, Fears make us shake and hide. This happens to most of us. And some of us stay hidden and frozen, convinced that we can't make a difference in this life, that every attempt to try results in more pain, shame and guilt. God knows our struggles. He knew we would need His help to make it through and that is why He has given us the tools of prayer and scriptures to help guide and strengthen us. And also we have the Holy Ghost to comfort us and help us know what is true. This pose works on our shoulders, back, hips and knees all places that can harbor hidden shame and guilt, and pins our faces forward so that we know that is the way to go! I love the power that God gives us to overcome as shown in this verse in Ezekiel 1:12 And they went every one straight forward: whither the spirit was to go, they went; and they turned not when they went. Letting go of shame and guilt is possible when we make loving God with our thoughts and actions , our aim. He is the way to a life you can be proud of and find joy in!
