Come on over Come unglued It's not easy To see all of you Help yourselves Help is on the way Well there's nothing to lose So now, I have something to say Maybe we can all recognize a moment of silence Maybe we can finally agree on the same point of view A long time ago we believed and we were united So the last thing on Earth I am ready to do is say...goodbye

Belgian coal miners return from the deep after a hard days work. Around 1900. • If you look closely at this image you may notice that some of the miners are wearing traditional Western European wooden shoes, which were commonly used as protective footwear at the time. The wooden shoes are still considered protective footwear in Europe, and are placed between hard toed and steel toed shoes. • Thanks to @bijan_khan for the image. • #history #belgium #europe #eu #mining #miners #elevators #oldphotos #historicalphotos #work #sad #rights #unions
