Hi Group, In 1 Nephi 15:1-7, Nephi returned to his family after having been carried away by the Spirit. His incredible visions left him exhausted & afflicted from seeing the future demise of his people. His brothers were arguing, baffled that they were unable to understand God's mysteries in Lehi's dreams. In V8-11, Nephi asked a simple question, "Have ye inquired of the Lord?" He reminded them that the Lord told them to: stop hardening their hearts, ask in faith, believe that would receive, & keep the commandments, & they would receive answers. Nephi taught them about the following: V12-16 Restoration of the Gospel in the latter days, & Israel, (broken branch), would dwindle in unbelief for many years after the Messiah. The fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ would come to the Gentiles, & then be taught to the remnant seed of Israel. Israel, having been nourished by the "true vine," (Christ), would then be "grafted in" to the "true olive tree." In V17-20, the gathering of scattered Israel by the Gentiles would take place in the latter days & restored Israel would no more be confounded. In V21-29, Nephi clarified some of the symbolism in Lehi's dream for his brothers: The tree=tree of life. The iron rod=word of God. Nephi instructed his brothers that if they would "hold fast unto it, (iron rod), they would never perish; neither could the temptations and the fiery darts of the adversary overpower them unto blindness, to lead them away to destruction." The filthy river=filthiness creating a gulf, (awful hell), separating the wicked from God. In V30-36, Nephi instructed about the judgement of God, & the final state of souls who are either good or evil during life's probation. (CONT. IN NEXT COMMENT)

"and if Christ had not risen from the dead, or have broken the bands of death that the grave should have no victory, and that death should have no sting, there could have been no resurrection. but there IS a resurrection, therefore the grave hath no victory, and the sting of death is swallowed up in Christ. He is the light and the life of the world; yea, a light that is endless, that can never be darkened; yea, and also a life which is endless, that there can be no more death." mosiah 16:7-9 [emphasis added]

Hi Group, In 1 Nephi 14:1-6, (600-592 BC.), the spirit revealed to Nephi that the Lord would manifest Himself in power & word to the Gentiles in the latter days. They would be numbered among the House of Israel, if they would hearken to His word & not harden their hearts. In the latter days, the House of Israel would be confounded no more. The evil inflicted upon the world by the great & abominable church, (any church or entity that leads people away from God & His laws of salvation), would not go unpunished. All would be well for the Gentiles who would repent & not harden their hearts. Concerning God's covenants to the House of Israel, "whoso repenteth not must perish." In V7 Nephi, quoting Christ, revealed that in the latter days, He would do a "great and a marvelous work among the children of men; a work which shall be everlasting..." (The restoration of Christ's Gospel & the bringing forth of the B of M). This marvelous work would bring eternal life for those who are NOT spiritually blinded. In V8-17, the angel reminded Nephi of the covenants God had made with Israel. Nephi saw, in the latter days, that there would be two churches: one, the church of the Lamb of God, which would be few in number, & the other would be the abominable church of Satan, (all churches or entities that fight against God & His laws of salvation), which would cover the earth. There would be great wars & rumors of wars. The great & abominable church would gather multitudes in all nations to fight against the Lamb of God. God's power would descend on His people & they would be "armed with righteousness and with the power of God." God's wrath would be poured out on the abominable church, & He would commence to fulfill His covenants to Israel. In V18-30, Nephi saw in vision, the Apostle John, who would write the Biblical account about the end of the world. Nephi was commanded to not write about the remainder of what he saw, but bore witness that the things he saw are true. (CONT. IN NEXT COMMENT)
