Hope you had a smashing weekend! We got overly excited with this nip filled piñata that @nipyata sent us and forgot to film it's cracking open. But man, that was satisfying swinging that stick! You might have seen these in some of our gift guides in the past and I still highly suggest getting one of these for your next party. I realize that this is another coconut milk variation used in place of dairy, but YOU GUYS!!!! Toasted coconut milk is amazing, and not that difficult to make (thanks @heidijswanson). AND you get to put it in both cocktails and your morning coffee - score! Check out the site for our all new post The Toasty Russian. THE FUTURE OF COCKTAILS....is alternative milks?? We're working on some non-dairy alternatives for the site right now as I battle a sudden appearance of some food intolerances. While my body works itself out and longingly makes heart eyes at dairy, soy, eggs and red meat, I'll be looking for ways to swap out these foods in cocktails. Sorry dudes, no ribeye infused bourbon anytime soon. A rare recipe appearance on the old Instagram (because it's just a straight swap of coconut milk for cream) for the cocktail pictured. Mainly it tastes like a Blue Hawaii but with a little coconut action. We got some really fun drinks planned so stayed tuned! My Blue Hawaii (with dry ice for added effect) 1 oz vodka 1.5 oz sweetened pineapple juice .5 oz blue curaçao .25 lime juice .25 oz coconut milk Combine all ingredients in a shaker 2/3 filled with ice. Shake. Strain. Serve. And if you've made it this far, nominations have opened up for the @saveur best blogs awards.
